Social distancing. I don’t know who coined the term or whether or not it truly reflects what is going on in this time – what we should be doing, what we can be doing. I guess it’s like a nice alternative to “isolation”, which is just so…desolate.
We distance ourselves physically from one another, but thanks to modern technology, we can still feed our social selves. We reflect, we share, we offer windows into our own little lives – maybe in ways that we would not have previous to this.
I’ll get to the point. I’ve had a request or two for “porch photography” sessions in the past two weeks. I hate to disappoint my clients, but the guidelines on this are pretty clear – government mandates that no in-person non-essential business activity is allowed at this time. Also, the Professional Photographers of Canada has clearly stated on their website that these sessions are absolutely banned. I won’t be offering them.
So I thought of an alternative, and it’s WAY better anyway, because all my far-away clients and fans can participate.
Let’s document our time – I’ll edit it! Take a photo of what your day looks like and send it to me for a professional edit. You can send me one photo or more – everything is ok.
You can email or wetransfer photos to firstname.lastname@example.org
Can’t wait to see what you guys come up with!
