It’s been two weeks for us now. Two weeks is somewhere between temporary and new normal, isn’t it? What a weird world we’ve found ourselves in.
Let’s forget about COVID for now.
It was a long, cold winter – the longest and coldest I’ve experienced since moving to the coast. On the morning of Steph & Doug’s maternity shoot, last November, it was freezing. We met at Middle Beach, Tofino for a sunrise maternity session, and the cold did nothing to deter Steph. This mamma glows.
It was so cold, my trigger finger froze and I was having trouble jamming it onto the shutter release. My coffee froze and even the dogs lost interest in the beach.
But would I do it again? In a heartbeat. There’s something about baby bumps that get my creative mind so geared up – I could shoot maternity all day, every day.
My thoughts are going out right now to all the expectant moms sitting at home, feeling kicks and prepping for the day their babes emerge into this strange new world. The beauty of life is unforgettable, even in these strange times.
